STORYTELLING AND METAPHOR

Humans are wired to create meaning and to understand the world through storytelling  and metaphor. So we make use of that. But this isn’t stand-around-the-cooler-and-tell-cheesy-anecdotes kind of storytelling. This is a highly structured, evidence-based iterative process that uses the power of the group to make meaning out of experience and get to the heart of “What is the problem worth  solving?’. And we do it in a way that even the most reluctant storytellers feel safe and supported.

PLAY, TOYS AND GAMES

Our strategies include a variety of types of “play”, “toys” and “games”. You’ll have the chance to build things, make things, fidget with kids’ toys, draw, play team games and generally keep your hands and bodies moving. Sometimes it’ll seem more like science and engineering; sometimes more like art or drama. But it’s not just to give you a break or even just “for fun”. It’s all based on strong research and evidence about how “play” supports good thinking, collaboration and creativity.

INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY

Inclusivity and Diversity are not just values of ours, but also vital innovation tools. Not only is “cognitive diversity” invaluable to creativity, but research (from Google) shows that the single biggest influence on creativity and team work is “psychological safety” and a sense of connection and belonging. We build it into our design, so that everyone can be fully present in the room, no matter who they are or how they are creative.
